Last year, MTV’s schadenfreude blockbuster, “Jersey Shore,” made Seaside Heights politicians and residents nervous. After all, the well-documented debauchery at the town’s 1209 Ocean Terrace, was one of the best spots for beach and fun on the Barnegat Peninsula doomed to ruin, and eternal jokes about a certain ultra-tanned stereotype?
The answer is of course a resounding, “No.”
This summer season looks to be a record breaker, in part because Seaside Heights has become an instant Graceland for reality television fans. People are posing for photos in front of the house Snooki (metaphorically) built, new businesses are booming, and sales of T-shirts boasting “Jersey Shore” catchphrases are through the roof.
