Can anyone give me information about NJP fishing rods please?

I have recently purchased a split bamboo fishing rod marked NJP. It appears to be very old but in excellent condition. It came with an old 'Angler' metal reel marked 8 80. I am trying to find out who made the rod and the period they were produced. Any
