I have a while before this actually comes into play but i have been bouncing around in my head the best type of fishing rod and reel for my new up coming fisherman...when my lil one gets old enough to start fishining what kid of rod should i start him

Fishing Clinic in Panama City

The kids went through six-stations before casting their rods into the bay. They were taught about what it is to be a good angler, how to tie a knot, water safety, a touch tank, and learned how to cast.

The first 300 kids received a free rod and reel.

"Everybody in the family can fish no matter physical ability, age, all of that. Fishing is good for everybody in the family. There's nothing more important that spending that family time," Tom Putnam, Owner of Half Hitch Tackle said.

Saturday's event was sponsored by half hitch tackle, Florida Fish and Wildlife, and a whole cast of other organizations.

A reminder, saltwater fishing is free this weekend, so head on out and enjoy the water.
