Here's a tip I learned about fishing rods. Hold it in your hand and lightly run the tip of the rod back and forth on a hard surface floor. If you feel the cracks, it's a good sensitive rod.

I hate to admit it but I basically quit fishing when I entered Military Service back in ‘86. Now after 20 years there and three more years back out working as a civilian again, I decided that I needed to get back to fishing. It’s been a long time but I knew I could not go wrong with Zebco as a starting point with no current knowledge of the market so I got a light Zebco rod and this medium-heavy one and neither disappointed me.This rod has great feel and depending on what you’re casting, outstanding distance. It cranks smoothly and quietly. If you’re using a float you can just make your cast and flip a switch and if anything hits it you get a very audible “drag” sounding alarm from the internal mechanism so even if you dose off, you still have a good chance of bringing that fish in. It comes pre-spooled so you just need to affix the reel release line and add bait and you’re ready to go. A great rod for any collection.
