Need Answers for: License for Fishing at Lake Tahoe, CA & Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

So I am planning a trip to Zephyr Cove, Nevada. I was on their home page and read that California License can be used in Nevada if fishing at Lake Tahoe. Is this true? Also, since in California, when you turn 16, you need to buy license, in Nevada, when

Here's the deal....if you're fishing on a boat, then you're legal anywhere on the lake. NV recognizes the CA laws as long as you are "in" the water. However, once you step on shore, and are anywhere on the NV side, then you MUST have a license

South Lake Tahoe Event Spotlight: Kids' Fishing Derby at Sawmill ...

. The annual Sawmill Pond Kids’ Fishing Derby  in South Lake Tahoe is one of those events.  We can't think of a better way to involve the kids in local activities where they can make new friends and enjoy a little healthy competition.

All kids under 14 are welcome to participate in the free derby. We oldies can watch, but only the kids get to fish!

If the kids don’t have a fishing pole, the guides from Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters will be there with some loaners.  No lures can be used during the derby, so there will be no "unfair competition".

The Optimist Club will provide barbecued hot dogs and refreshments.
